CHRISTMAS 2006

Christmas was the same for us as im sure it is for most people... FULL ON!!! and i dont even have kids...lol.

These photos are of a christmas cake that i made from scratch with Keiths mum, she has made alot of cakes and entered alot of comps in her time but the fingers just dont work the same as they used to. That is why she was very pleased to hear that i wanted to make a Christmas cake.

It is your traditional fruit cake... Even though it was there on christmas day it didnt get eaten at all, as per usual we could have fed an army with the meal that mum puts on, im still trying to get over it...lol

TUSKER The Adventures of Henry

Last year my Sister, my Mum and I decided that every year we would try and do a christmas shop at Southland Shopping Centre. We wouldnt normally venture out that far so its a good excuse to spend the ENTIRE day shopping.

My Sis is a collector of Butterflys and there are so many gorgious things to do with butterflys and i wished that i could become a collector of something as well, but i couldnt think of anything to collect, until.... our Southland Christmas shop.

There is a shop in Southland that is called 'Selections'. They have alot of collectable items for sale there. They had these gorgious Elephants called: Tusker: The Adventures of Henry. Henry being the Elephant. I feel in love with these Elephants. I brought 2 and thought it was the best start to a collection of Henry's. (Yeah, christmas shopping turned out to be spending money on myself.... oops) and i was convinced that Southland would become a more regular shop so i could get HEAPS of Henry's. But that never happened.

This year, once again, first thing in the morning headed over to Southland, and once again i had trouble picking a Henry to add to my collection. So i thought id get just one and come back another time to get some more. The one that i collected was called 'Bee Happy Not Sad' Its the one in the picture that has a bee on his nose. (loved it loved it)

The next trip ended up being that next weekend...lol. I couldnt wait... (can you tell i dont have kids..lol) This time i got 3. 2 of them are in the picture. I is called 'On The UP and UP' and the other is 'Tusker Ele-Flop' (jumping in the water)

There are 3 that i dont have a photo off and ill have to get them organised to put on this blog. I soon hope to have a nice and big collection.

SCRAP-AHOLIC

After going to a craft festival that was on at the exhibition centre not too long ago it has re-introduced one of my many craft hobbies, Scrapbooking!

So im keen to get snapping with the camera and scrapbook away.

The weekend that has just gone i decided that i was going to do some on my little man Rusty (Dog/Human). Keith and i got photo happy and took HEAPS of photos of him. I always had trouble getting good photo's of Rusty coz he's scared of the flash but its amaizing what a dog will do for a schmako lol. It was as if he was posing for a photo shoot. It was so funny.

So im slowly getting 2 pages together that are dedicated to the little man and ill be more than happy to show it when its completed.

Its great scrapbooking coz it side tracks your mind from the pantry and kills time very quickly, so its easy to do when Keith is on night shift.

So here is a picture of my little man Rusty who is a very special boy and has brought lots of enjoyment to my life. This particular photo will be included in scrapbooking.

Burn The Floor presents Floor Play

Last Friday night 21st of July, Keith took me out to 'Floor Play'. It was a night of great entertainment where a group of dances danced the night away (or at least 2 hours of the night) I had a fantastic time, the dancing was so sexy, they were so into the moves, it was a fantastic night out. It was held at the crown at the Palms. Didnt realise how long it had been since id been to the casino but, where all the clubs used to be... they aint there any more!

I wish that Keith would do dancing with me coz id love to do it. But, that aint gonna happen, I couldnt get him on a dance floor for anything. lol. I wanted to put a picture of the dancers on this blog but it wouldnt let me so here is the web site if anyone wants to check it out. http://www.burnthefloor.com

I Love Cross Stitch

Yes i have myself a little addiction. Unfortunatly this addiction is one where you sit for hours apone hours so physically... its not a good one but... I get alot of enjoyment out of it... Yes... Its cross stitching.

I purchased a new cross stitch pattern over the weekend (picture provided). This is of course what it will or should look like at the end (hoping).

I have a real fascination for the white tiger, or any tiger for that matter. There are some that look real nasty but i thought this was a goodie, the mother (or parent) protecting it's cub. This particular cross stitch will be 27.9cm width and 35.6cm depth on a 14 count aida.

I purchased this lovely design from http://www.vicstitch.com.au where they had so many beautiful cross stitching patterns. They have completed ones on display which are awsome as well. They were very friendly and helpful.

Many hours of enjoyment to come sitting in front of the fire!!

WEEKEND GARDENING

Had a very busy Saturday gardening. We planted 10 plants: 4 Yucca's and 6 kangaroo thingies (cant remember the name he he)and weeded what seemed to be like mini trees that had taken over. It was VERY hard work, its 2 days later and i still ache, will be spa'ring it up for the next few days for sure! But it was very rewarding, still got a few things to do but we'll get there.

Keith's Dad finished off the gates as well so i was very happy, WoooHooo!!!

This weekend wont be so good; getting my 2 top wisdom teeth out on friday the 23rd, im very scared on how its going to go. Hoping that ill recover well. Hey, at least i have foxtel now so i can watch all the sitcoms and movies i wont. My appointment is at 11:40am, it's only an hour procedure so ill be home by 1-1:30. Im really scared!!!

FRIED RICE ANYONE!!!

Monday night I was soooo proud of myself, I cooked fried rice! This is not the actual picture of my creation but its close enough. It tasted beautiful. I sussed out the key factors of fried rice; how you should cook the rice the night before and refridgerate, and to use a small amount of Sesame Oil (got those tips from a chef). I chopped up some spring onion, carrot, cooked some eggs ans peas added some soy sauce and walla!

To the average person you would be thinking 'why is she bragging about cooking fried rice?' but to family and friends you would understand that im an 'interesting' cook when it comes to new creations. I was so worried that it was gonna taste crap. I got the thumbs up from the man so i was so excited. I asked Keith if there was anything interesting that he would like me to cook tonight, his response 'Steak and Veg'.....nice one Keith. lol

FOOTY FEVER!!

Yes Friday night Keith and i went to the football, Collingwood v's Bulldogs. Im a Collingwood supporter and Keith a Bulldogs, I found it entertaining but Keith, not so much. Thoroughly enjoyed the night at the MCG. Boy was it cold, had my scarf, beanie, gloves and jacket on and was still feeling the cold. The atmosphere was fantastic, I cant wait to go again. Of course Collingwood won by 7 goals tried not to get too excited coz Keith was not happy Jan! lol

Saturday we went to see Mission Impossible 3 at gold class at the Crown. What a fantastic movie, had a great time. Had a few alcoholic beverages and then we had a 24th birthday to go to. Went to the Waterloo and they had karaoki. None of us got up to sing coz they were singing crap all night.

Over all I actually felt like I had a life this weekend. It was great.

1ST POSTING EVA!!!

Have to say a big thanks to my sis Kerry for getting me onto the world of blog :) Thanks luv!!! Not much is happening in my life at the moment (car insurance due in a few weeks, cant afford to do anything lol) Got a birthday on Saturday night... How hard is it to buy for a guy! Been rackin me brain and could only come up with 28 scratchies coz its his 28th birthday.

My next posting ill put a photo of my cross stitch that ive been doing, just got the back stitch to do (been meaning to finish that, good excuse to get stuck into it before my next posting) Love the cross stitch, got 2 going at the moment, was very impressed when Kerry started to get into it, thought i was the only one with the craftie side.

Well i think ill leave it at that, only 31/2 hours left of work.... YES!!!!!!!
